Getting Started
SNcode is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that connects your machine directly to ServiceNow, with an AI that understands the platform. This guide takes you from download to your first reviewed script.
Requirements
- macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel) or Windows 10/11
- A Google, Microsoft account or email for sign-up
- A ServiceNow instance you have credentials for (developer, sub-prod, or prod), on any release
Install and sign in
- 1
Download and open SNcode
On macOS, grab the .dmg and drag SNcode to Applications. On Windows, run the installer. Then launch it. - 2
Sign up with Google, Microsoft or email
With Google or Microsoft we receive only your email, name, and (from Google) avatar. With email, we store your address and Firebase Authentication keeps your password hashed. - 3
Connect your first instance
Add a ServiceNow instance URL and API credentials. These are stored locally on your machine and never sent to our servers. Nothing is installed on the instance. - 4
Send your first message
Ask SNcode to write a Business Rule, query a table, or transform a file. It generates the code and explains every decision.
What happens to your data
SNcode is local-first. Your instance credentials, chat history, and attached files are stored on your device, on macOS and Windows alike. When you send a message, the conversation goes over TLS to the SNcode API, which either relays it to the Anthropic Claude API or, in Local mode, assembles the prompt for your own Claude Code to send. We process it in transit and never store or log it. Your ServiceNow credentials never reach our servers. The security page shows exactly what goes where.
Next
You're signed in. Next, wire SNcode up to a real ServiceNow instance so it can read tables and run the scripts it writes.
